New Chapter Edit Coming - Write Wise Blog

New Chapter Edit Coming

I've begun work on the next update to Write Wise, which will bring about simplified chapter editing.

Currently, editing a chapter is kind of awkward – there's a special button to paste from Word (that sometimes doesn't capture italics properly), it's not possible to underline or bold text, and the editor is slow to load and cramped.

The new editor will make use of a more modern RTE editor. Pasting from Word (or Writer, Google Docs etc.) should be like pasting any other text (so long as you are using a modern browser such as Opera or Chrome).

Progress on updating the site has been slow, but this isn't due to a lack of interest or commitment. In 2015, the foundations for the new Write Wise were set down and those foundations are as solid as ever. I've been busy with other projects and other commitments, but my commitments are finally starting to taper off and Write Wise will get my attention again.

When I get more time, I also intend to begin serious work on my novella. I've got a plan set down – this will be my first planned story in many years – and I'm looking forward to writing it. I hope everybody's well and I look forward to reading your future WW contributions.

Thanks for the comments, lads. I'm hoping to shift to smaller, more iterative updates. The ultimate aim is to arrive at a Write Wise site that is easy and pleasant to use. If you have any suggestions or priorities, do give us a shout.

Good to hear that the Write Wise site is being improved once more and that you are planning to work on the novella you told us about earlier. I'm looking forward to reading that once it gets published. I'll have to start writing again as well as I haven't released anything since December.

The new editor sounds like a good idea and will make posting stories more convenient. I look forward to other site improvements too, such as the new planned story profiles (so there is a consistent theme across the site.)

Also, I'm really looking forward to your novella.
