I believe 24 was also cancelled. Shame about FlashForward - it had gotten so much better after that mid-season break ... ah well, I guess. Still got Fringe ...

The Dark Tower 1 and 2

Greetings, Dark Tower is a series of seven books of which I have read two of. I am not really sure why I didn't review the first book Gunslinger before hand but I suppose there is no time like the present, let's see if I remember it. The first one was set in a world that is not our own or is in the past, I haven't quite figured that out but there's still a lot more books to go. It follows the character of Sir Roland who is the last of his kind, the last Gunslinger into the desert lands hunting down the Dark Tower and his enemy the Man in Black, also known as Walter. Basically it is a long journey to a Dark Tower in which many of the Gunslinger's friends have been killed in search of. This book and the others were all influenced by the Lord of the Rings, this has a Western twist into it. It has a strange end, which even after reading the second book still isn't exactly clear. The Dark Tower series was written by Stephen King.

The Drawing of the three, the next book is set along a beach that never appears to end, with strange creatures that are willing to kill the Gunslinger from the sea, the Gunslinger has to survive them and the Man in Black's plan. He has to walk inside three doors, all far apart, which lead to the minds of three people. The first is that of Eddie Dean and leads to our world during the 1970's, where Eddie, an drug addict tries to smuggle drugs to America when the Gunslinger interrupts. I will not say to much as that would spoil the books. They were well written but they both took a while to get into and build up so much that over the last twetny pages there is action. The ending of this book was also a little confusing but hopefully, it will all be explained later. The eighth episode of the adventures of Flecth and Roman series 2 is up in Warehouse 17.

Quote of the day

Cheer up, Brian. You know what they say:
Some things in life are bad.
They can really make you mad.
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle,
Don't grumble. Give a whistle.
And this'll help things turn out for the best. And...

Always look on the bright side of life.

Cloverfield

Greetings, Cloverfield is a movie that was made by the creators of the popular TV series Lost in 2008. I have watched it recently knowing that the storyline wasn't a particularly original one, but wanted to see it due to the idea of it being filmed through a camera. I believe that viewing it through the camera was a good idea, although I did take a while to adjust to it. The first fifteen minutes of the movie were pretty boring and would have been better if some unnecessary clips were taken out, the story is set in New York were a monster attacks the city. This isn't a particularly original idea as it has been done before for example King Kong, but the characters weren't that memorable and had few distinguishing features to interest me. It was not easy to follow the characters as they kept dying every twenty odd minutes. The special features were great and for this reason and the camera I liked the movie, otherwise I would have switched it off. Also one of the worst endings I had ever seen, even if the characters weren't standing out it was a ridiculous ending making the whole event of Rob and the rest of his friends save his girlfriend pointless. It is an okay movie and is alright if you want to see a the destruction of New York or simply some good special effects such as half of New York being attacked by a monster. The adventures of Fletch and Roman episode 7 series 2 is up in the Warehouse.

Late news update

Greetings, about a week or more ago Gordon Brown left the job of Prime minister and ten Downing street. David Cameron is the new Prime minister, with Nick Clegg as Deputy Prime minister in the first Coalition government for 70 years shortly after the Second World War. The Conservatives were unable to get the full support of the country and dealt with the Lib dems for a majority. In other news a few TV programs such as Heroes, Scrubs and Flashforward have been cancelled, I believe Heroes would have needed to stop a few series later anyway and I haven't seen the last series of Scrubs so I can't comment on that now. It means I need more TV programs, hopefully something will come up and not be cancelled like so many shows that should have went on were. Also there is a picture of Flight of the Conchords as I was unable to put up a picture last update. The adventures of Fletch and Roman series two episode 6 is up in the Warehouse.

Flight of the Conchords

Greetings, you may not have heard of the program Flight of the Conchords as it appears to only be on BBC 4, I watched the two series on DVD. It is about two clueless New Zealanders called Jemaine and Bret, who came to America to make it as a band named the Flight of the Conchords with their awful and worst manager about Murray. The two get into awkward situations with supporting characters such as Mel, their only fan and a stalker and Dave, an Indian who lives with his family and runs a pawn shop. It also has some catchy music in it even though the songs are supposed to be a joke. Unfortunately the duo are not making a third series but they are touring. I would encourage anyone to watch it, I reward this TV program with the Super duper Fantastic 100% the best title, only Bioshock and Jade Empire have won this reward for games. FRA episode five second series is up in the Warehouse.
